Why are we so sad about this? Isn’t the point of our set-up meant to have the successful, the cream if you will, rise to the top? Aren’t the well-maanged and organized companies supposed to make money and be rewarded for innovation and understanding that no matter how big you are a company can fall and crumble to pieces?
Why is GM, Chrysler, etc. so important? I know historically they play a part. They are part of our image. So is baseball, but that has changed and adapted. These companies were greedy and were not innovative. They kicked out the same type of cars and trucks for to many years without creating something ne, more gas mileage, electric, something, anything besides their boring lines of cars.
I understand we are worried about the job loss potential. But do we think all of sudden we won’t have cars? We will all have to drive Honda’s? Or will a creative comapny like Tesla rise up? Will these people that had creative ideas step forward and be given a chance because the old way has fallen apart. A new model, a new idea a new way of business with different forms of unions will be formed and the old way of doing things will be written about in the history books.
We will learn that if you do not adapt and change with time, time will forget you. Or a great phrase that fits perfectly right now, “Greed comes before the fall”.
So car companies and unions of tomorrow remember these days. Don’t be so stubborn, be thankful for a job, don’t be greedy and send jobs to cheaper labor, reward your country, reward your workers and keep the cycle going!
