painted on.

so yesterday this topic came to mind as i was at the YMCA here in lovely Grand Rapids. I was doing some running, weight lifting, etc etc. And as I was there I noticed that some people of the female gender have found clothes that must require a vaccuum seal to put on. I am seriouslly interested in seeing their clothes hanging on a hanger because they just have to look like they are for a toddler.

Anyways, this topic is something my friends and i have discussed. Why do women wear clothes like that and then act disgusted when they see a guy taking a mental picture?

I don’t get it.

If i wore 1970’s basketball shorts and an under armour shirt, i would be expecting glances and mental pictures.

Although all glancers would be looking only because it would fall into the “funniest image i have seen in my life” category.

I guess i just dont understand, either be ok with it (because i have to believe that deep down they are counting the looks they get) or wear a hoodie and capris.

Church Marketing Sucks.

Recently I was at my local B&N (that’s Barnes and Noble) thumbing through various design magazine and came across this website, www.churchmarketingsucks.com.

At first, I was quite confused as to what the website was about, but all in all I did agree, Church marketing does indeed suck. I don’t think churches suck, I just think they are a few years behind generally and usually piggy back their campaigns or slogans with whatever is cool at the moment just changing a word so it works and relates to the church in some way.

Which is what porn does to, right?

Anyhue, this website is right on in so many ways and I wish more churches would realize that they could have more impact if they just put a little effort into marketing and using technology for their advantage instead of being afraid of it.

Media bias.

I find it interesting that now, after the end of the Bush years, things are being leaked out about what he accomplished and good that was done. Does the media slant things that badly?

Apparently Bush has been the most supportive of Africa of any President in US history, yet somehow everyone thinks Clinton was. These facts that I have found blow away anything Clinton ever did.

How was this never mentioned? I think in years to come, the last 8 years of US history will be looked at differently.
