The Right Stuff
Why is everything that is good for you so not tasty at all?
For example, pizza or salad?
Pizza all day long, and as many pieces that I can stuff down before my stomach screams “STOP!”
Why is the healthy lifestyle so hard to follow and stick to?
Why does coca-cola have to be so delicious and water so, well, blah.
And we all have friends or know someone who is ultra healthy and loves a plate full of carrots. And that friend just makes you hate yourself for not being able to eat a salad once a day.
But then that friend gets struck by lightening and you say to yourself, “Self, eat away because the next bolt of lightening could be destined for you!”

Well I feel your pain. But I think you’ve been sold a bill of “goods” about what is “bad”. The message that certain food are BAD and you therefore should feel bad about yourself for eating them is just one more negative emotion attached to food that will cause people to be miserable, think badly about temselves…and EAT MORE.
Some foods are better for you than others. No doubt. But the real deal is there are no evil foods just bad diets.
To put it in perspective I can actually point out that some people won’t even eat the CARROTS? Why? Because they mistakenly believe that carrots are high on the GI scale and are thus like sugar and so are bad. That’s right, these days some people even think carrots are bad for you and will make you fat. So things are getting a bit strange.
Yes, it is a lifestyle and there must be a slow gradual change toward permanent and sustained healthy habits. But that does not have to mean that you eat like a rabbit. And as long as our eating habits are fueled by negative thoughts and emotions, then we will continue to do negative things.
I am NOT saying that it’s all a big happy easy party. I think that idea is more about marketing than anything else.
